With Steve Job’s keynote at the Macworld Expo only five days away, the number of rumors circulating around the internet about Apple is at a record low. I’m really disappointed that I haven’t even heard a single rumor on the “top secret” features in Leopard. However, as always, there’s tons of rumors about the iPhone.
For the past year, I’ve held off on buying an iPod because of the “iPhone” rumors. After many (very many) disappointments, I’ve realized that its possible Apple won’t ever release an iPhone. The history of the iPhone rumors actually goes more than seven years back to December 14 1999. If I don’t see an iPhone in the next week, I’m just going to go and get an iPod. And if Apple does really release an iPhone, it better do more than play music and make phone calls. I’d like to see an iPhone that can run widgets.
The number one “top secret” feature that I’d like to see in Leopard is a 3d interface similar to Project Looking Glass 3D (LG3D). Watch this video of LG3D to see what I mean. If Apple puts something like this into Mac OS, it really will be a Vista 2.0 as they claim it will be. Either way, Apple has to have something good up their sleeve if they’re claiming “The first 30 years was only the beginning, welcome to 2007″ on their homepage.
