I just installed ran Software Update (for the first time in a long time) and saw an update for iTunes. The description was: “With iTunes 7.2, preview and purchase iTunes Plus music—new higher-quality, DRM-free music downloads from participating music labels.“
I opened up iTunes and went to iTunes Plus. I looked at the F.A.Q. and apparently iTunes plus lets you buy higher quality DRM free songs and music videos. The price for songs is $1.29, and for videos the price it still $1.99. To sum it up, you can get songs at double the quality, and you can put them on any mp3 player for only an additional 30 cents.
I’m not sure if this is old news or new news, but somehow I haven’t seen anything about this before.

It’s pretty old news.
They came out with iTunes 7.2 (or I got it, anyway) on May 30th.
