Before I say anything else, I’d like to point out that I think that the iPhone is awesome. If I was buying a new phone (and had a spare $500) then I would buy one. At the same time, I think that it could be better.
That said, I just saw this article on Business2.com. Its an interesting read. The basic point is that Steve Jobs messed up with the iPhone because he doesn’t understand what people today want. The point is a valid one. Job’s generation doesn’t have the same wants as today’s generation. With the iPod that wasn’t an issue, but with the iPhone it will be. The main result of the misunderstanding is that the iPhone is lacking in web 2.0 and social networking features.
